This supplement to The American Journal of Managed Care is the second in a 2-part series that summarizes the proceedings from a roundtable meeting that was conducted to discuss real-world considerations in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) and venous thromboembolism (VTE). The focus of this supplement is the issues and complexities surrounding the use of mainstay anticoagulation therapies in real-world populations. Discussions include the impact of comorbidities on international normalized ratio control and the potential impact that population health management and value-based care may have on improving outcomes in NVAF and VTE populations.
