A piece by Orlando Sentinel highlighted an article published on AJMC.com, the website of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The article, “New CMS Model Aims to Lower Insulin Costs for Seniors,” noted an announcement by CMS on the Part D Senior Savings Model, allowing Medicare Part D prescription drug plans to offer plan choices that provide a range of insulins to beneficiaries, at a maximum $35 co-pay per 30-day supply throughout the benefit year.
An article by Market Watch cited a piece published on AJMC.com, titled “Low-Income Women Less Likely to Keep Jobs After Breast Cancer Treatment.” The piece spotlighted findings linking women with breast cancer with a 2-fold increased likelihood of returning to work after treatment if their employer makes accommodations for them, but workplace accommodation and job retention were found to be significantly lower for low-income and minority women.
An article by AJMC®’s sister site The Center for Biosimilars® was referenced in a piece by The Pharma Letter, titled “The Purple Book: Transition to a single online source.” The article, “FDA Launches Searchable Database Intended to Replace Static Purple Book Lists,” detailed an announcement by the FDA launching the first phase of its improvement to the Purple Book by moving from a list format to a searchable database, so the public can more easily search biosimilar and biologic products.
CMS released a final rule to help patients obtain Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage and issued a proposed rule to update Medicare payment policies and rates for inpatient rehabilitation facilities; debate over if gift card incentives are acceptable in health care marketing.
