Through Priority Pups, 5 working facility dogs will be placed in several Michigan school districts over the next few months. The first dog, a goldendoodle named Scout, became part of Muskegon Public Schools district on September 11.
Grand Rapids, Michigan — The national nonprofit health benefits company has announced Priority Pups, the newest signature program from its Priority Health for Good health equity–focused initiative in partnership with Canines For Change.
Stating with the Muskegon Public Schools district, which now counts its newest resident to be Scout, a goldendoodle facility dog, 4 additional highly trained working facility dogs will be placed in several other Michigan school districts over the next few months. The program is especially timely, with over 50% of Michigan parents noting their children's mental health is a top ongoing concern.

“We know education gives children the tools they need to lead fulfilling lives, thrive personally, and contribute to their communities, said Praveen Thadani, president of Priority Health. "Through this program, in partnership with schools, we can make a tangible impact on the mental health of Michigan students and enhance the learning experience for students and teachers.”
