Pontchartrain Cancer Center is located in southeastern Louisiana; what challenges do you face when providing care to patients in this area?

So, you have to first get past the stigma of the patient feeling like a test subject. I think that was very common 10 or 20 years ago. I think clinical trials got a bad reputation from that. We primarily address that through education. Our clinicians and our nurses just address the education behind the clinical trials, the ability to, in a lot of cases, have access to cutting edge therapy that they would not otherwise have access to. Educating them about all of the advances in science and how they might be able to have that hand in changing therapy for themselves and other people coming after them.
