The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) was 1 of a just a few examples of healthcare policy that has enjoyed overwhelming bipartisan support in recent years. MACRA replaces the controversial and problematic sustainable growth rate formula with a new way to adjust payments to providers.
While 2017 is the start of the law's implementation, it is being viewed as a transition year. Simply participating and submitting quality data prevents providers from receiving a negative payment adjustment.
