Evidence-Based Diabetes Management
Robert A. Gabbay, MD, PhD, FACP
is the chief medical officer and senior vice president of Joslin Diabetes Center and a member of the faculty at Harvard Medical School. An ABIM certified physician in endocrinology and medicine, he is a graduate of the State University of New York at Brooklyn School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center. He was chief resident, Department of Medicine, New York Downtown Hospital, and served a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. During his tenure at Penn State University, he served as faculty chair of Pennsylvaniaâ€™s statewide Chronic Care Model-focused Patient-Centered Medical Home initiative. Dr. Gabbay was an early leader in alternative payment and delivery models in diabetes care, and is dedicated to bring the patient-centered medical neighborhood model of diabetes care to his work at Joslin.
