The American Journal of Managed Care Announces Publication of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Aligning Forces for Quality Initiative

Plainsboro, NJ - The American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC) announced today the publication of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) initiative. This initiative is the largest privately funded community-based quality improvement initiative to date. AF4Q provides funds and technical assistance to 16 multi-stakeholder alliances located throughout the United States, with the goal of improving patient health and healthcare.

Guest editor, David Blumenthal, MD, MPP, Samuel O. Thier Professor of Medicine and Professor of Health Care Policy, Massachusetts General Hospital/Partners HealthCare System and Harvard Medical School, states, “The AF4Q initiative is a bold and historic effort to test an important and promising approach to improving healthcare system performance, and these papers constitute the first attempt to assess its effects.”

AJMC will help to enhance the footprint of this novel initiative by continuing its effort to provide information to clinical and policy decision makers that promotes the efficient delivery of high-quality care. The AJMC publication includes original research manuscripts describing the AF4Q initiative and results thus far.
