In this video, Feng Zeng, PhD, Senior Health Economist, MedImpact, discusses how the implementation of copayment reduction in the gap in 2011 influenced adherence measures for oral diabetes medications.

Although adherence has improved post-coverage gap reform implementation, adherence at a plan level is not that strong. This is because significant subsets of patients, such as low-income subsidy patients, were not influenced at all by the coverage gap reform.
