Yu, MD, FACP, FASCO, president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and director of Cancer Research at Palo Alto Medical Foundation, highlighted how the society has been going in a different direction with its keynote speaker.
Two years ago Paul Farmer, MD, PhD, spoke about global health, not just from an oncology point of view, and this year Michael E. Porter, PhD, MBA, of Harvard Business School, will discuss outcomes measurement and the patient-centered experience of healthcare, Dr Yu explained.
