Medical research tends to be very segmented, but The American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC) has played an important role over the last 20 years in sharing new techniques and findings in managed care, said Margaret E. O'Kane, MHA, president of the National Committee on Quality Assurance.

"How we do things really has been a neglected field," she said. "And the journal has really played an incredibly important role in helping people to share learnings across organizations."

Ms O'Kane wrote the special guest commentary in the February issue of AJMC, which is featured on the 20th anniversary page alongside all special guest commentaries from 2015.
