In Becker’s Orthopedic and Spine, writer Laura Dyrda summarized 5 key points from the study, “The Role of Health IT and Delivery System Reform in Facilitating Advanced Care Delivery,” which appears in the current issue of The American Journal of Managed Care. Noteworthy are the fact that most physicians, (89%) perform at least 1 care coordination process, but fewer than half (44%) report performing a quality measure. Find the full study here.
In a recent op-ed in the Asbury Park Press in New Jersey, Sally Pipes, president and CEO and Thomas W. Smith Fellow in Health Care Policy at the Pacific Research Institute, cited the February 2015 AJMC study, “Leveraging Remote Behavioral Health Interventions to Improve Medical Outcomes and Reduce Costs.” Pipes called for a broader embrace of telehealth for remote counseling and cited the study’s findings that after 6 months, a remote program for cardiovascular patients reduced readmission by 38%.
