This supplement to The American Journal of Managed Care provides information on the diagnosis and management of fibromyalgia. Methods to provide additional education for the medical community, enhance management by health plans, and expand patient access to US Food and Drug Administration-approved fibromyalgia drugs are discussed. The need for updated fibromyalgia treatment guidelines is also discussed.
