Dr. Thomas Graf Explains Accountable Care Organizations used to Create Value-Based Delivery Systems

In this final portion of the interview, Dr. Thomas Graf, Associate Chief Medical Officer, Population Health, Geisinger Health System, Danville, PA, shares his deeper knowledge about accountable care organizations (ACOs) now that Geisinger has been involved in this pilot project for 5 years.

In addition, Dr. Graf provides his thoughts about the long-term workability of the ACO model as the nation’s healthcare system continues to evolve. He also discusses how there are challenges associated with the ACO model for health systems; however, it is the best option for controling costs and building a value-based delivery system.
