In the final segment of the panel discussion, each panel member gave their final thoughts on the subject at hand. “For the healthcare resources that we have, it’s important for us to start targeting those healthcare dollars towards care that actually makes a difference and improves the health of our patients and the family members,” said Ms Larsen-Haidle. Dr Brawley stated that genetic testing is a complicated area that needs to stay with the experts. Counselors are crucial with the influx of genetic testing today. Counselors, providers, and patients need to work together in order to effectively manage patients.
