A piece on MEAWW.com, titled “Coronavirus pandemic: People with heart disease, diabetes have worst outcomes, should remain alert,” referenced a recent article published on AJMC.com, the website of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The article, “How Vulnerable Are Patients With Cardiovascular Disease to COVID-19, Flu Complications?,” indicated that while patients with cardiovascular disease are especially vulnerable to respiratory infections, uncertainty remains regarding just what damage COVID-19 can cause in these patients.
