An Update on the Work of the Medicaid Transformation Project

June 5, 2019

The American Journal of Managed Care® sat down with David Smith, the executive director of the Medicaid Transformation Project, to get an update about the integration challenges health systems are facing, including system issues, infrastructure issues, coding and payment issues, and more.

Twenty-eight health systems have joined together across the country so far to participate in an effort launched last year called the Medicaid Transformation Project, which aims to improve healthcare and related social needs, including behavioral health and mental health, for the 1 in 5 Americans on Medicaid. The American Journal of Managed Care® recently sat down with David Smith, the executive director of the project, to get an update about the integration challenges health systems are facing, including system issues, infrastructure issues, coding and payment issues, and more.

This podcast is a follow up to one The American Journal of Managed Care® did last year with Molly Coye, MD, executive-in-residence of AVIA Health Innovation, which created the Medicaid Transformation Project in conjunction with former CMS Acting Administrator Andy Slavitt.
