Bundled Payment Programs and Hospital Partnership

Video

During this segment, Patrick White explains why cardiology groups are partnering with hospitals and participating in bundled payment programs.

Mr White comments that healthcare has shifted toward a value-based care model, and 70% of his group’s (MedAxiom’s) programs are now integrated (owned or leased by hospitals, health systems, or foundations). Mr White notes that there have been tremendous cuts in reimbursements for cardiologists and explains that as a result, many groups have partnered with hospitals to ease their financial concerns.

In addition to partnering with hospitals for financial security reasons, Mr White explains that many groups view partnership with hospitals as an opportunity to better manage the overall care of patients with cardiovascular conditions.
