Episodes in this series

During this segment, David Calabrese, RPh, MHP, and Kenneth L. Schaecher, MD, FACP, CPC, discuss accountable care organizations (ACOs) and their impact on patient care.
Dr Schaecher explains that although ACOs are constructed to benefit healthcare professionals and patients, he fears that an ACO model of care may cause clinicians to under-utilize expensive drug
therapies.
Dr Schaecher hopes that healthcare professionals will continue to make the best choice for their patients and ignore the financial pressures that often play a role in the treatment decision-making process.
