Marc Boutin Describes the Evolving Methods of Patient Engagement

Patient engagement is in constant change and has evolved over the years into how care is delivered and how quality measures are developed, explained Marc Boutin, JD, chief executive officer

Patient engagement is in constant change and over the years it has evolved to focus on techniques or methods specific to a patient-centered approach in an effort to best encourage the patient to become more involved in their care, said Marc Boutin, JD, chief executive officer of the National Health Council.

Mr Boutin added that methods of delivering care and developing quality measures sit at the heart of the patient engagement approach now.

“At the end of the day, I think we’re going to bring patient engagement right into the heart of care and really transform how we deliver care,” Mr Boutin says.
