Jaja Okigwe is CEO of Seattle-based First Choice Health. Serving in this role since 2018, Jaja has presided over its renewal as a modern health benefit company. Over the course of a 25-plus year career in which he has advised companies across multiple industry sectors and in several countries, Jaja has developed a unique perspective on the US health care system, with a focus on simplification and appropriate technology.
As an imaginative thinker, Jaja has held key leadership roles, including leading strategic planning and innovation for Premera Blue Cross, a health plan based in Washington state, with 2 million members, and developing products and partnerships for a division of McKesson Corporation, presently #6 on the Fortune 500.
Jaja is fluent in French, Spanish, and English; an aspiring author; and a supporter of immigrants’ rights, adoption, and youth soccer.
Hw received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and an MBA from HEC Paris.
It can be hard to think about the bigger picture while in the middle of a crisis, but providers and employers should use this opportunity to work together on new and alternative models of care delivery and financing that directly affect cost, outcomes, and experience.
