ACOs and Culture of Health to Be Discussed During AJMC Tweetchat

Article

Incentives included in the Affordable Care Act have encouraged medical centers, clinics, and practitioners to create integrated healthcare entities that will move the US healthcare system away from fee-for-service. Accountable care organizations (ACOs), designed to improve quality of care and affordability, play a large role in this transformation.

On Tuesday, September 29, from 11 am to noon EDT, The American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC) will host a tweetchat with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) about the impact of ACOs and RWJF’s efforts to build a national Culture of Health.

Andrea M. Ducas, MPH, a program officer with RWJF, will answer discuss topics that include promoting a Culture of Health, how ACOs impact healthcare quality and value, and the challenges facing ACOs. AJMC encourages Twitter users to submit questions and participate in the chat by using #AJMCchat. And don’t forget to follow @AJMC_Journal, @RWJF, and @AndreaDucas.

RWJF President and Chief Executive Officer Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, MD, MBA, wrote a special guest commentary for AJMC in July highlighting the role ACOs play in building a Culture of Health in which every person in America can have the healthiest life possible.
