Article

Coverage of our peer-reviewed research and news reporting in the health care and mainstream press.

An article by Becker’s Payer Issues referenced a study published in the October 2022 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The study, “Turnover Among New Medicare Advantage Enrollees May Be Greater Than Perceived,” indicated that new Medicare Advantage enrollees changed insurers at a substantial rate over multiple years, which could disincentivize investment in preventive care and chronic disease management by insurers.

A piece by The Independent referenced an article published on AJMC.com, the website of AJMC®. The article, “How Much Does It Cost to Give Birth in the United States? It Depends on the State,” covered a Health Care Cost Institute report that found that the cost of giving birth could vary by thousands of dollars depending on where the birth took place in the United States, from $8300 in Arkansas to $20,000 in New York.

A piece by Health Digest referenced an article published on AJMC.com. The article, “Sex Hormones May Play an Important Role in Multiple Sclerosis Prevalence and Development,” covered a review of hormones and their respective immunological mechanisms. The review found that it was probable that sex hormones influence the prevalence and course of multiple sclerosis.
