Articles from Healthcare Innovation and MedCity News referenced a study published in the August 2024 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The article, “A Machine Learning Technology for Addressing Medication-Related Risk in Older Multimorbid Patients,” discussed how the FeelBetter system was able to stratify older patients with multimorbidity who were at risk of increased use of the emergency department and hospitalizations.

A study titled “Turnover Among New Medicare Advantage Enrollees May Be Greater Than Perceived,” published in the October 2022 issue of AJMC, was referenced in an article from Becker’s Payer Issues. The study found that new enrollees in Medicare Advantage changed their insurers substantially across multiple years, which could lead to discontinuities in care and prevent insurers from investing in preventive care.

An article from The Business Journals referenced coverage published on AJMC.com, the website of AJMC. The article, “Most Insured Adults Still Have to Pay at Least Part of the Cost of GLP-1 Drugs,” summarized findings from KFF, which found that more than half of surveyed adults with health insurance said it was difficult to afford their glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) medication, which is used for diabetes, heart disease, and weight loss.

An article from AJMC’s conference coverage, “Are AI-Powered Robots the Future of Respiratory Health Care?” was referenced in AI in Healthcare. The article covered a panel held during the European Respiratory Society Congress 2024, where attendees could meet a humanoid robot that may help improve clinical decision-making but also presents concerns over misinformation and data privacy.

Two articles from Becker’s GI & Endoscopy referenced a report published on AJMC.com. The article, “Updated Colonoscopy Guidelines have Implications on Doctors, Patients Alike,” featured interviews with the coauthor of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy colonoscopy guidelines as well as a doctor from Vanderbilt University Medical Center to discuss the implications of the new guidelines and what to expect once they are implemented.

An article from Pharmacy Times referenced an article published on AJMC’s sister site, The Center for Biosimilars®. The article, “Mark Cuban’s Online Pharmacy Partners With Coherus Biosciences for Humira Biosimilar,” reports that Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company joined forces with Coherus Biosciences to make an adalimumab biosimilar available at a more affordable price for patients.
