However, Express Scripts knew adherence would be of concern, so it put in an “adherence guarantee,” he said.
“So what we’ve done for our plan sponsors is, when we’re filling these prescriptions if the member is not adhering, we will refund the cost of the therapy,” Dr Miller said.
Ed Cohen, PharmD, FAPhA, applauded the help Express Scripts has put in place to keep patients adherent, and added that Walgreens has been offering additional options to assist the patient.
