Congress May Need More Time for Full Repeal
Lawmakers briefed physician groups Wednesday afternoon on updates to their proposal to repeal Medicare's SGR payment formula.
Wednesday's update provided a more fleshed out SGR-repeal proposal than the version lawmakers released in October. The two congressional committees, working in a bipartisan fashion, reacted to physician concerns regarding an eight-page proposal from October to repeal the SGR and create a more streamlined pay-for-performance system.
