How did beWellnm’s strategy change over the last 3 years since the ACA’s implementation?
Over the course of the past 3 years we’ve had to adjust our strategy. In New Mexico, for the first year or so, we were trying to figure out, what is an enrollment counselor, what is a navigator, and then how does the really important role of the agent and broker fit into the ecosystem. So we’ve been very nimble with our strategy and we’ve actually implemented a lot more grassroots access for New Mexicans across the state.
In year 3 we opened additional enrollment centers in urban areas of the state, and they’re very well-trafficked. There are many people coming in that are getting assistance, they’re getting bilingual support with the application process, and they’re really finding value in having person-to-person access, person-to-person conversations, in order to figure out the best health insurance plan for themselves and their families.
