An article from the American Medical Association referenced a study published in the August 2022 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The article, “Formulary Restrictions and Stroke Risk in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation,” found that limiting access to non–vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants could exacerbate the underuse of anticoagulants and increase the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation.

A study titled “Inadequate Insurance Coverage for Overweight/Obesity Management,” published in the August 2024 issue of AJMC, was referenced in an article from MedCity News. The study determined that focusing on prevention, treatment, and reducing the impact of stigma are the main keys to addressing the obesity epidemic in America.
