A piece posted on the website of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute linked to an article published on AJMC.com, the website of The American Journal of Managed Care®. The article, “Extreme Heat Waves Linked With Higher US Mortality, Particularly Among Elderly, Black Individuals,” showed that extreme heat waves were associated with higher all-cause mortality throughout the United States, with increased risks seen among men, older persons, and non-Hispanic Black individuals.
An article by AJMC®'s sister site, Managed Healthcare Executive®, cited an interview published on AJMC.com. The interview, “How Collaboration Between Pharmacists of Health Plans, Systems Can Drive Value-Based Payment Models,” indicated that a collaborative effort between the health system and health plan pharmacists, as well as care managers and prescribers, is key to improving clinical and quality outcomes in value-based payment models.
