A press release from Digital Journal referenced an article published on AJMC.com, the website of AJMC®. The article, “Mental Health Fraud Exacts High Human and Financial Costs,” covered the costs of health care fraud and determined that the United States loses approximately $100 billion annually from the practice, of which $20 billion comes from the mental health sector.
