A piece by MedCity News referenced a study published in the January 2020 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The study, “Using Applied Machine Learning to Predict Healthcare Utilization Based on Socioeconomic Determinants of Care,” exhibited the possibility in generating a highly accurate model to predict inpatient and emergency department utilization using data on socioeconomic determinants of care.

An article by Becker’s Hospital Review spotlighted a study published in the February 2013 issue of AJMC®. The study, “Impact of Oral Nutritional Supplementation on Hospital Outcomes,” found through an instrumental variables regression analysis that inpatient oral nutritional supplement use decreased length of stay, episode cost, and 30-day readmission probability.
