The article covered recent daily news updates, including how nonprofit hospitals pursue profits from low-income patients and an announcement by the Biden administration that $1.5 billion would be set aside to battle opioid overdoses and support recovery.

An article by Digital Health referenced a 2020 study published in a supplement to AJMC^®, titled “Economic Burden of Alzheimer Disease and Managed Care Considerations.” The study indicated that health care costs associated with the treatment of Alzheimer disease were an estimated $305 billion in 2020.
