UPMC Health Plan has earned the highest member satisfaction scores for Pennsylvania.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, July 27, 2026 – UPMC Health Plan announced that it earned the highest member satisfaction scores for Pennsylvania in the JD Power 2026 U.S. Commercial Member Health Plan Study℠ . This marks the third consecutive year of the Health Plan earning this recognition. The study measures satisfaction among nearly 38,000 members in 22 regions across the United States. The respondents represented 148 commercial health plans.

Respondents ranked UPMC Health Plan highest in the following dimensions:

  • Able to get health services how/when members want
  • Digital channels (e.g., website, mobile apps, text messaging)
  • Ease of doing business (e.g., billing, payment, account changes)
  • Helping to save time or money
  • People (e.g., representatives, call center agents)
  • Resolving problems or complaints

“We are honored to once again be recognized by JD Power, as it reflects the trust our members place in us every day,” said Anne Palmerine, vice president, Customer Engagement and Enrollment, UPMC Health Plan. “This recognition underscores our continued focus on delivering a seamless, personalized experience—from making it easy to access care when and how members need it, to providing responsive, high-quality support through our dedicated Concierge team. We remain committed to exceeding expectations at every touchpoint of the member journey.”

Meaghan Hafner, senior director of healthcare solutions at JD Power, explained that “[by] and large, health plans are delivering on the basics, but many are failing to deliver more meaningful emotional connections with their members. Health plan members want to feel like their insurer is a trusted partner in their health and wellness. Accordingly, those that clearly communicate how their services work and deliver consistently positive experiences stand to set themselves apart from the pack.”

The U.S. Commercial Member Health Plan Study, now in its 20th year, measures satisfaction among members of 148 health plans in 22 regions throughout the United States based on performance in 8 core dimensions on a poor-to-perfect rating scale. The dimensions are (in alphabetical order): able to get health services how/when I want; level of trust; product/coverage offerings meet my needs; helping to save me time or money; ease of doing business; people; digital channels; and resolving problems or complaints. This year’s study is based on responses from 37,768 commercial health plan members and was fielded from September 2025 through March 2026.
