The article “Cicada COVID-19 Variant FAQs: Symptoms, Risk, and Prevention,” published on AJMC.com, the news site of The American Journal of Managed Care^® (AJMC^®), detailed the emergence of the BA.3.2 Cicada variant, noting its more than 70 mutations from the original strain and its distinguishing severe sore throat, while cautioning that its symptoms could be mistaken for a common cold, allergies, or the flu.

In its article, The Independent cited AJMC’s reporting on Cicada’s symptom profile to help readers distinguish it from the “Stratus” variant currently driving the summer surge, as part of its broader guide to what symptoms to watch for.

The article, “Trump Childhood Vaccine Order: What It Means for Parents and Payers,” published on AJMC, found that splitting the combined measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine into 3 separate shots under the executive order could raise costs and appointment burdens for families while also opening the door for insurers to drop coverage of newly optional vaccines.

US News listed AJMC's coverage of the executive order among its sourcing for its “A Doctor's Take” column, drawing on the outlet's reporting to help ground its account of the policy changes and the pushback from medical organizations warning that the order could raise the risk of outbreaks of previously controlled diseases.
