An article by the American Hospital Association referenced a study published in the June 2023 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The study, “Economics of a Health System’s Direct-to-Consumer Telemedicine for Its Employees,” found that a direct-to-consumer telemedicine service ultimately resulted in a lower per-episode unit cost of care within 7 days, with only a minimal increase in the use of services.
An article from Healio referenced another study published in the June 2023 issue of AJMC. The study, “Economic Burden of Nonadherence to Standards of Diabetes Care,” examined the effect of nonadherence to diabetes guidelines on health care expenditures in patients with diabetes.
