AJMC® in the Press, October 31, 2025

An article published in ALS News Today referenced a study published in the October 2025 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care^® (AJMC^®). The study, “Medicare Expenditures in the First Year of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Diagnosis,” found that a third of people diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis receive disease-modifying medication.

A study titled “Mortality Gap Between Puerto Rico and the US Mainland Among Medicare Advantage Enrollees,” published in the October 2025 issue of AJMC, was referenced in an article published in News is my Business. The study found that Hispanic enrollees in Puerto Rico had a higher mortality rate than Hispanic enrollees in the US between 2010 and 2022.

An article from Becker’s ASC Review referenced a study published in the October 2025 issue of AJMC. The piece, “Pricing and Insurance Networks in Outpatient Surgery Markets,” found that patients saved money when they chose in-network facilities whereas insurers saved by increasing use of ambulatory surgery centers for common adult outpatient surgeries.

An article published in a supplement to AJMC was referenced in an article published on IFLScience. The commentary, “An Overview of Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic Syndrome,” described the metabolic disease and discussed means of treating the syndrome holistically.
