Blazing a Trail: Pioneer ACOs Test Strategies with Five Pay Options

Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston are among the first to test Medicare accountable care, but they did not go all-in right away.
The Beth Israel Deaconess Physician Organization chose a slow start from among the options offered by federal health officials who are testing five payment models on 32 accountable care organizations that launched in January.
