DarioHealth to Add Dexcom CGM to Digital Health Platform

Article

This agreement enables the integration of data from Dexcom’s continuous glucose monitor (CGM) directly into DarioHealth's metabolic digital health tool, adding another layer of support.

DarioHealth announced recently that Dexcom’s continuous glucose monitor (CGM) would be added to its multi–chronic condition platform.

This agreement enables the integration of data from Dexcom CGMs directly into Dario's metabolic digital health tool, adding another layer of support.

The integration with Dexcom builds on the $30 million strategic collaboration it began last year with Sanofi US, said DarioHealth, which is seeking to expand the use of digital health tools to manage chronic conditions, metabolic conditions, and musculoskeletal conditions.

DarioHealth’s platform uses clinical, engagement, and behavioral data to adapt each user's experience over time. The company also has its own glucose smart meter.

"Nearly 2 million people use a continuous glucose monitor today, and the ability to capture that data in Dario's platform expands our ability to deliver a dynamic, highly relevant experience to more people living with diabetes. It's an exciting development that will ultimately benefit every Dario member as the CGM data enriches our overall data ecosystem," said Rick Anderson, president of DarioHealth, in a statement.

The digital health market is expected to reach $1.3 trillion by 2030, according to one report, with the surge in chronic diseases in the United States fueling the trend.

More than half of Americans have chronic conditions, which the CDC has said is one of the top drivers of health care costs. In addition, 4 in 10 Americans have 2 or more chronic conditions, including diabetes, chronic kidney disease, Alzheimer disease, stroke, heart disease, and cancer.

Diabetes, in particular, affects more than 37 million US individuals, creating a higher risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, blindness, and amputation.
