Dr Peter P. Yu, MD, FASCO, mphasized the importance of value when considering the implications of cancer care.
“ASCO thinks value is very important to talk about in cancer care, because it ties into the affordability, sustainability, and access to quality cancer care.”
According to Dr Yu, value in cancer care is three-fold: clinical benefits of intervention, improvements in quality of life, and costs, both clinical and economic.
Dr Yu will serve as a keynote speaker for The American Journal of Managed Care's 3rd annual "Patient-Centered Oncology Care" meeting on November 13-14 in Baltimore, MD.
