Enroll America President Anne Filipic noted in an op-ed piece that Dallas County has one of the highest concentrations of uninsured patients in the United States, which leads to higher costs for all residents.

Filipic coauthored the piece with Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
"Texas hospitals provide over $5 billion a year in uncompensated care," Filipic wrote in the piece, published Sunday. "Texans pay for much of this are through local property taxes, increased premium costs and higher medical costs."
