CRANBURY, N.J.--The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®), the leading peer-reviewed journal dedicated to issues in managed care, will be hosting its first webcast in an ongoing series discussing the best practices and insights for implementing advanced payment models in oncology. This initial interchange, focusing on the oncology care model (OCM), will be aired on September 27, 2017 at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm eastern time. Our webcast series offers inside knowledge and experience around the newly introduced alternative payment models, where healthcare professionals can learn from a variety of stakeholders already involved in these programs.”

Dr. Patel will discuss his experience with instituting the OCM program in his practice and will present strategies that medical professionals can apply to successfully adopt the OCM. Additionally, Dr. Aran will share a payer’s outlook and present his thoughts on the OCM’s effect on improving population health.

The OCM is an alternative payment model, designed to improve patient care by appropriately aligning financial incentives with care coordination, appropriateness of care, access to care for beneficiaries receiving chemotherapy.
