A practicing oncologist, board certified in Hematology, Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Holistic and Integrative medicine, Dr Patel is currently the president of the South Carolina Oncology Society and also serves on the board of the Community Oncology Alliance. He has been a practicing oncologist in 3 different continents and different healthcare delivery models, including the National Health Service in the UK and Scotland. His primary areas of interest and expertise include end-of-life and palliative care, primary and secondary prevention of cancer with lifestyle modification, and healthcare policy. He is a certified physician educator and trainer for end-of-life and palliative care.
