James Song, MD: There's so many meetings now in dermatology, I lost count. One of the real key differentiators for the Maui Durham meeting, though, is it allows attendees to kind of pick and choose what they find to be most important for them and what they want to learn more about. This gives attendees the opportunity to do a deep dive into one particular subject matter that they're really interested in, rather than sometimes just getting these kind of high-level, kind of sound bites that some people enjoy as well. But if you really want to do a deep dive, I feel like this is the meeting for you.
Jerry Shapiro, MD: Maui Derm is the best meeting. First of all, it covers everything, everything in detail, and it's such a great platform to learn so much about dermatology in depth. And for instance, I give over an hour lecture, usually on anything to do with hair. And others give these long lectures and debates and this and that, so that makes Maui Derm a lot of fun.
Donna Culton, MD: Maui Derm is my all-time favorite meeting. Obviously, the backdrop of Maui doesn't hurt, but really, this meeting pulls together experts that are bringing practical pearls for those of us out there seeing patients that we can immediately incorporate into our clinical practice. It's hard sometimes; you go to meetings, and a lot of the information is so complex, it's hard to take something that you can put directly into practice, but Maui Derm does a really good job, and the conversations that come after the talks are really one of my favorite parts. Great networking, great speakers, and great presentations all around.
Philip Mease, MD: By far the most valuable and fun thing has been to be on panels with other physicians who are dermatologists—coming from a different perspective than I [have] as a rheumatologist—and I've really enjoyed co-presenting data and having discussions with this group, just because it makes it so much more rich and valuable.
