Robert Galvin, MD, CEO, Equity Healthcare, The BlackStone Group, says that as a primary care physician he has a bias that the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) is a great model, but it is very difficult to implement. There are many challenges to ensure the success and longevity of a PCMH. Dr Galvin says that more capital, more investments, and patience are all necessary for the model to mature.
